CONTENTFUL EDUCATION SERVICES USER AGREEMENT
1. Welcome to Contentful!
1.1. Introduction. Thank you for your interest in the Contentful Education Services. This Contentful Education Services User Agreement (“Terms”) applies to all your activities on the Contentful Learning Center, Contentful workshops, Contentful courses, Contentful mobile applications, our APIs, and related services (collectively “Education Services”). Contentful (“Contentful,” “we,” “us,” “our”) provides its Services to you (“you,” “your” and “Customer”) to offer valuable educational content for your internal and non-commercial use.
1.2. Acceptance. To be eligible to register for access to and use of the Contentful Learning Center and Contentful’s Education Services, you must review and accept the Terms by clicking on the “Signup” button or other mechanism provided. PLEASE REVIEW THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY ACCEPTING THESE TERMS OR ACCESSING OR USING THE EDUCATION SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WITH THE CONTENTFUL ENTITY INDICATED BELOW (“CONTENTFUL”). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS, YOU SHOULD NOT CLICK THE “I ACCEPT” BUTTON, AND YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE CONTENTFUL EDUCATION SERVICES.
1.3. Contentful. “Contentful” in these Terms is defined as:
a. Contentful GmbH of Max-Urich-Straße 3, 13355 Berlin, Germany if you are located in Europe, the UK, Middle East, Africa or Asia.
b. Contentful Inc. of 101 Montgomery Street, Suite 1900, San Francisco, CA 94104. U.S.A. if you are located in the Americas, Australia or New Zealand.
1.4. Modifications to the Terms. Contentful may revise these Terms from time to time if technical, economic, or legal conditions change. If we make any material change, we will notify you using prominent means, such as by email notice sent to the email address specified in your Account or by posting a notice through the Contentful Learning Center. Modifications will become effective on the day they are posted unless stated otherwise. Your continued access to and use of our Education Services after changes become effective means that you accept those changes. Any revised Terms shall supersede all previous Terms. Unless Contentful says otherwise, revisions will be effective upon the effective date indicated at the top of these Terms. Contentful encourages you to check the effective date of these Terms whenever you visit the Contentful Learning Center or your Contentful account (collectively, your “Account”). Your continued access to or use of the Education Services constitutes your acceptance of any revisions.
1.5. Privacy. By registering, accessing and using the Education Services, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy. You expressly consent to the use and disclosure of your personal information and other data and information as described in the Privacy Policy. Notwithstanding anything in the Privacy Policy, Contentful will have the right to collect, extract, compile, synthesize, and analyze non-personal information (data or information that does not identify an entity or natural person as the source thereof) (“Usage Data”) resulting from your access to and use of the Education Services. To the extent any such Usage Data is collected or generated by Contentful, such Usage Data will be solely owned by Contentful and may be used by Contentful for any lawful business purpose without a duty of accounting to you, provided that the Usage Data is used only in an aggregated form, without directly identifying you or any other entity or natural person as the source thereof.
2. Access of the Service
2.1. License, Account and Use. You need an Account to access and use our Education Services, including to purchase and enroll in a course. When setting up and maintaining your Account, you must provide and continue to provide accurate and complete information, including a valid email address. If you contact us to request access to an Account that you claim to be yours, we will not grant you such access unless you can provide us with the information that we need to prove you are the original owner of that Account. The Education Services, and any content viewed through our Contentful Learning Center, is solely for your internal and non-commercial use, and we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the courses and associated content for which you have paid all required fees in accordance with these Terms and any conditions or restrictions associated with a particular course or feature of our Education Services. All other uses are expressly prohibited. You may not reproduce, redistribute, transmit, assign, sell, broadcast, rent, share, lend, modify, adapt, edit, create derivative works of, sublicense, or otherwise transfer or use any course or Education Services unless we give you explicit permission to do so in a written agreement signed by a Contentful authorized representative. This also applies to content you can access via any of our APIs. Except for the foregoing limited license, no right, title or interest shall be transferred to you. Contentful may revoke your license at any time in its sole discretion. Upon such revocation, you must promptly destroy all content downloaded or otherwise obtained through the Education Services, as well as copies of such materials, whether made in accordance with these Terms or otherwise.
2.2. Password and Security. You may not share your Account login credentials with anyone else. You are responsible for what happens with your Account. You must notify us immediately upon learning that someone else may be using your Account without your permission (or if you suspect any other breach of security) by contacting our Contentful Learning Center support team. We may request some information from you to confirm that you are indeed the original owner of your Account. Contentful will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Section 2.
2.3. Registration Obligations. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an Account and access and use the Education Services. If you are younger than 18 but above the required age for consent to use online services where you live (for example, 13 in the US or 16 in Ireland), you may not set up an Account. If you are below this age of consent to use online services, you may not create a Contentful Account. If we discover that you have created an Account that violates these rules, we will terminate your Account.
2.4. Certification. Any certifications offered by Contentful will be in accordance with the Certification Policy attached as Addendum A and incorporated herein.
2.5. Mobile Services. The Education Services may include certain services that are available via a mobile device, including (i) the ability to upload content to the Contentful Learning Center and Education Services via a mobile device, (ii) the ability to browse the Education Services from a mobile device and (iii) the ability to access certain features through an application downloaded and installed on a mobile device (collectively, the “Mobile Services”). To the extent you access the Education Services through a mobile device, your wireless service carrier’s standard charges, data rates and other fees may apply. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Mobile Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Mobile Services may work with all carriers or devices.
2.6. Third Party Content. The Education Services may provide, or third parties may provide, links or other access to other sites and resources on the Internet. Contentful has no control over such other sites and resources and Contentful is not responsible for and does not endorse such other sites and resources. Contentful is not responsible and will not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss, claim, or damage caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance upon any content, events, goods or services available on or through any such site or resource. Any dealings you have with third parties while using the Education Services are between you and the third party.
3. Restrictions
3.1. Provision of Education Services. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and the Contentful Acceptable Use Policy (available at https://www.contentful.com/legal/us/aup/ (the “AUP”). You are solely responsible for all code, video, images, information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials that you upload, post, publish or display (hereinafter, “upload”) or email or otherwise use via the Education Services. Contentful reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in Contentful's sole discretion, violates this provision, including without limitation, removing the offending content from the Education Services, suspending or terminating the Account of such violators and reporting you to law enforcement or other authorities.
3.2. Restrictions. The rights granted herein are subject to the following restrictions (the “Restrictions”):
a. You will not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, create derivative works of or otherwise create, attempt to create or derive, or permit or assist any third party to create or derive, the source code underlying the Education Services;
b. You will not transfer, distribute, resell, lease, license, or assign the Education Services or otherwise offer the Education Services on a standalone basis;
c. You will not (nor will you permit any third party to) use the Education Services in any manner that violates Contentful’s AUP (or any other term of this Agreement);
d. You will not otherwise use the Education Services outside the scope expressly permitted hereunder.
4. Fees.
4.1. Payment. You agree to pay for the Education Services by the due date specified, and you agree that we may charge your selected payment method, either directly or through the use of a third-party payment processor, for any payments due. If your participation in a course is being paid for by a third party (such as your employer), then you will be bound by all provisions in these Terms (including payment provisions), however we may enter into a separate agreement with your employer to govern payment for courses on your behalf. We make no representations or warranties about the continued availability of any particular form of payment method made available for use with our Education Services. Contentful currently uses a secure third-party payment processor to process payment card transactions. Our third-party payment processor accepts payments through the methods detailed on the applicable payment screen. Information you supply to our payment processor is not stored by us or within our control and is subject to the payment processor’s own privacy policies and terms and conditions. Third-party payment processors may charge a fee to process payments and Contentful is not responsible for any fees charged by them. Any fees or problems that you have with our third-party payment processor must be resolved with such processor, and Contentful will not be liable for any disputes between you and such processor.
4.2. Codes and Credits. Contentful or our partners may offer promotional or voucher codes or credits (“Codes”) to you or your employer. Certain Codes may be redeemed and applied to your Account, which then may be used to purchase eligible courses, subject to the terms included with your Codes. Other Codes may be directly redeemable for specific courses. These Codes, as well as any promotional value linked to them, may expire if not used within the period specified in your Account. Codes offered by Contentful may not be refunded for cash, unless otherwise specified in the terms included with your Codes or as required by applicable law.
4.3. Suspension. If your use of the Education Services exceeds the amounts prepaid by you or if you fail to pay any amounts due by you, Contentful may suspend your Account without prior notice to you. Contentful will have no liability for any damage, liabilities, losses (including any loss of data or profits) or any other consequences that you may incur with connection with any suspension of your Account pursuant to this section.
5. Proprietary Rights, Confidentiality and Privacy
5.1. Contentful’s Ownership Rights. As between the parties, Contentful exclusively owns all right, title and interest in and to the Education Services and all materials and content thereunder. Except for the express rights granted hereunder, Contentful reserves all rights, title and interests in and to the Education Services and Contentful’s Confidential Information.
5.2. User Content. With respect to the content or other materials you upload through the Education Services or share with other users or recipients (collectively, “User Content”), you represent and warrant that you own all right, title and interest in and to such User Content, including, without limitation, all copyrights and rights of publicity contained therein, and that you have all required rights to post or transmit such User Content without violation of any third-party rights. By uploading any User Content you hereby grant and will grant Contentful, its affiliated companies and partners (including but not limited to Contentful instructors, practitioners and other third parties providing instructional information through the Services (collectively, “Partners”)) a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free, fully paid up, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual, irrevocable license to copy, display, upload, adapt, perform, publish, distribute (through multiple tiers of distribution and partnerships), store, modify and otherwise use and fully exploit your User Content in any and all media, form, medium, technology or distribution methods now known or later developed and for any and all purposes (commercial or otherwise). You acknowledge and agree that any questions, comments, suggestions, ideas, feedback or other information relevant to the Education Services (collectively, “Feedback”), provided by you to Contentful, its affiliated companies or partners are non-confidential and Contentful, its affiliated companies and Partners will be entitled to the unrestricted use and dissemination of this Feedback for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, without acknowledgment or compensation to you. You acknowledge and agree that Contentful may preserve content and may also disclose content if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process, applicable laws or government requests; (b) enforce these Terms; (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Contentful, its users and the public. You understand that the technical processing and transmission of the Education Services, including your User Content, may involve (y) transmissions over various networks; and (z) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.
5.3. User Content Responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content that is posted on the Contentful Learning Center and the Education Services and we do not endorse, nor are we responsible for, your User Content. You assume all risks associated with your User Content, including anyone’s reliance on its quality, accuracy, or reliability, and you agree that you are solely responsible for any consequences that may arise from the posting of your User Content on or through the Education Services.
5.4. Accuracy Disclaimer. We do not represent or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of content posted by users of the Education Services. You accept that any reliance on material posted by other users or other third parties will be at your own risk. By using the Education Services, you accept the risk that you might be exposed to content posted by other users that is objectionable or otherwise inappropriate. Without limiting the foregoing, Contentful will not be held liable to you or any other third party for any User Content under any law, including the Communications Decency Act or CDA, 47 U.S.C. § 230.
5.5. Confidentiality. Each party agrees that it will use the Confidential Information of the other party solely in accordance with the provisions of these Terms and it will not disclose, or permit to be disclosed, the same directly or indirectly, to any third party without the other party’s prior written consent, except as otherwise permitted hereunder. However, either party may disclose Confidential Information to its employees, officers, directors, attorneys, auditors, financial advisors and other representatives who have a need to know and are legally bound to keep such information confidential by confidentiality obligations consistent with those of this Agreement; and as required by law (in which case the receiving party will provide the disclosing party with prior written notification thereof, will provide the disclosing party with the opportunity to contest such disclosure, and will use its reasonable efforts to minimize such disclosure to the extent permitted by applicable law. Neither party will disclose the terms of this Agreement to any third party, except that either party may confidentially disclose such terms to actual or potential lenders, investors or acquirers. Each party agrees to exercise due care in protecting the Confidential Information from unauthorized use and disclosure. In the event of actual or threatened breach of the provisions of this Section or the Restrictions, the non-breaching party will be entitled to seek immediate injunctive and other equitable relief without waiving any other rights or remedies available to it. Each party will promptly notify the other in writing if it becomes aware of any violations of the confidentiality obligations set forth in this Agreement. The disclosing party agrees that the foregoing obligations shall not apply with respect to any information (save for Confidential Information that qualifies as a trade secret under applicable law) that the receiving party can document (i) is or becomes (through no improper action or inaction by the receiving party) generally available to the public, or (ii) was in its legitimate possession or known by it without restriction prior to receipt from the disclosing party, or (iii) was rightfully disclosed to it by a third party without restriction, or (iv) was independently developed by or for the receiving party without use of or reference to any Confidential Information of the disclosing party.
6. Warranties and Disclaimers
6.1. YOUR USE OF THE EDUCATION SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE EDUCATION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, CONTENTFUL EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
CONTENTFUL MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT (I) THE EDUCATION SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, (II) THE EDUCATION SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, (III) THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE EDUCATION SERVICES WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE, OR (IV) THE QUALITY OF ANY PRODUCTS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, OR OTHER MATERIAL PURCHASED OR OBTAINED BY YOU THROUGH THE EDUCATION SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
7. Indemnification
7.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify and hold Contentful, its affiliates, its partners and its and their officers, employees, directors and agent harmless from any from any and all losses, damages, expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, rights, claims, actions of any kind and injury (including death) arising out of or relating to your use of the Education Services, any User Content, your connection to the Education Services, your violation of these Terms or your violation of any rights of another. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.” If you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER IN TORT, CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, WILL CONTENTFUL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY (I) INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER, OR ANY DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOST PROFITS, LOST SALES OR BUSINESS, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, LOST CONTENT OR DATA, OR FOR ANY AND ALL OTHER DAMAGES OR LOSSES, EVEN IF CONTENTFUL HAS BEEN ADVISED, KNEW OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES OR (II) DIRECT DAMAGES, COSTS OR LIABILITIES IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU DURING THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE INCIDENT OR CLAIM. THE FOREGOING PROVISIONS ALLOCATE THE RISKS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTIES, AND THE PARTIES HAVE RELIED ON THE LIMITATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN IN DETERMINING WHETHER TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT.
9. Dispute Resolution
9.1. Resolution. If you have any dispute with us, you agree that before taking any formal action, you will contact us at the address for the applicable Contentful entity listed in Section 1.3 above. and Contentful Learning Center support, and provide a brief, written description of the dispute and your contact information (including your username, if your dispute relates to an Account). Except for intellectual property, the parties agree to use commercially reasonable efforts to settle any dispute, claim, question, or disagreement directly through consultation and good faith negotiations shall be a condition to either party initiating a lawsuit or arbitration.
9.2. Class Action Waiver. YOU AND CONTENTFUL EACH AGREE THAT CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER MAY ONLY BE BROUGHT IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT IN A CLASS ACTION OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. All claims and disputes under these Terms must be conducted on an individual (and not a class-wide) basis. You acknowledge and agree that these Terms specifically prohibit you from commencing any legal proceedings as a representative of others, participating in a class, representative, or collective action as a class representative, class member or an opt-in party, acting as a private attorney general, or joining or consolidating Claims with claims or proceedings brought by any other person.
9.3. Jury Trial Waiver. YOU AND CONTENTFUL EACH VOLUNTARILY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY IN RESOLVING ANY DISPUTE BETWEEN US ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR SERVICES.
10. Termination and Suspension
10.1. Termination and Suspension. You may terminate your Account at any time by emailing the Contentful Learning Center at learningservices@contentful.com. Contentful may terminate or suspend your Account at any time and for any reason. Contentful may also terminate or suspend your Account immediately for cause if: (a) you violate (or give Contentful reason to believe you have violated) the AUP; (b) there is reason to believe the traffic created from your use of the Education Services is fraudulent or negatively impacting the operating capability of the Education Services; (c) Contentful determines, in its sole discretion, that providing the Education Services is prohibited by law, or it has become impractical or unfeasible for any legal or regulatory reason to provide the Education Services; or (d) subject to applicable law, upon your liquidation, commencement of dissolution proceedings, disposal of your assets or change of control, a failure to continue business, assignment for the benefit of creditors, or if you become the subject of bankruptcy or similar proceeding. If Contentful suspends your Account, Contentful will make a reasonable attempt to notify you. Note that no refund will be provided in the event of any suspension or termination of your Account.
10.2. Survival. Upon termination of this Agreement all rights and obligations will immediately terminate except that any terms or conditions that by their nature should survive such termination will survive, including the restrictions and terms and conditions relating to proprietary rights and confidentiality, disclaimers, indemnification, limitations of liability and termination and the general provisions below.
11. General
11.1. Export Controls. The Education Services, including any software Contentful may provide in connection with the Education Services, may be subject to applicable export control laws and economic sanctions regulations. In receiving and using this software or the Education Services, you agree to comply strictly with all domestic and international export laws and economic sanctions regulations as they apply to this software and the Education Services, and to the extent consistent with these Terms, to obtain any necessary license or other authorization to export, re-export, or transfer such software or other aspects of the Education Services. You represent that you are not on any government’s prohibited, denied or exclusion list or under the control of or an agent for any entity on such a list, and you further warrant that you will immediately discontinue use of Contentful’s software and the Education Services if you become placed on any such list or under the control of or an agent for any entity placed on such a list.
11.2. Assignment; Delegation. Neither these Terms nor any rights or obligations of you hereunder may be assigned or transferred by you (in whole or in part and including by sale, merger, consolidation, or other operation of law) without the prior written consent of Contentful. Any assignment in violation of the foregoing will be null and void. Contentful may assign these Terms to any Contentful affiliate or to any party that assumes Contentful’s obligations hereunder.
11.3. Waiver. No waiver of any rights hereunder will be effective unless assented to in writing by both parties. Any such waiver will be only to the specific provision and under the specific circumstances for which it was given and will not apply with respect to any repeated or continued violation of the same provision or any other provision. Failure or delay by either party to enforce any provision of this Agreement will not be deemed a waiver of future enforcement of that or any other provision.
11.4. Relationship. The parties hereto are independent parties, not agents, employees, or employers of the other or joint venturers, and neither acquires hereunder any right or ability to bind or enter into any obligation on behalf of the other.
11.5. Unenforceability. If a court of competent jurisdiction determines that any provision of this Agreement is invalid, illegal, or otherwise unenforceable, such provision will be enforced as nearly as possible in accordance with the stated intention of the parties, while the remainder of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect and bind the parties according to its terms.
11.6. Issue Resolution and Governing Law. If you have any issues with the Education Services or Contentful, you must try to resolve the issue first through Contentful Learning Center support. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., exclusive of its rules governing choice of law and conflict of laws, and all disputes arising out of the Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts of Delaware, U.S.A., and the parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts. This Agreement will not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
11.7. Notices. Any legal notice required or permitted to be given hereunder will be given in writing by personal delivery, certified mail, return receipt requested, or by overnight delivery. Routine business notices may be sent by confirmed electronic transmission. Notices to you must be sent to your email or other address as set forth in your Account information. Legal notices to Contentful must be sent to the following address:

11.8. Entire Agreement. This Agreement and any linked policies referenced herein comprises the entire agreement between you and Contentful with respect to its subject matter, and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous proposals, statements, sales materials or presentations and agreements (oral and written) related to the Education Services. No oral or written information or advice given by Contentful, its agents or employees will create a warranty.
11.9. Force Majeure. Neither party will be deemed in breach hereunder for any cessation, interruption or delay in the performance of its obligations due to causes beyond its reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”), including earthquake, flood, or other natural disaster, act of God, pandemic, labor controversy, civil disturbance, terrorism, war (whether or not officially declared), cyber-attacks (e.g., denial of service attacks), or the inability to obtain sufficient supplies, transportation, or other essential commodity or service required in the conduct of its business, or any change in or the adoption of any law, regulation, judgment or decree.
11.10. Interpretation. For purposes hereof, “including” means “including without limitation”.
Addendum A
Certification Policy
1. Certification Candidate Name
1.1. The name you used when registering for access to and use of the Contentful Learning Center will be the name under which you will be certified if you pass the Contentful Certified Professional exam (“Exam”). You must use your real name. If you need to change your name in the Contentful Learning Center, please make this change by editing your user profile before attempting the certification Exam.
1.2. Name changes requested after certification is purchased will require proof that you are the authorized owner of the email address you used when you signed up for the Contentful Learning Center.
2. Exam retakes
2.1. Purchasing an exam gives you the right to attempt the exam once. Should you not pass on your exam attempt, you may purchase the exam again. You must wait seven (7) days from your initial attempt before purchasing another exam. When the waiting period is complete, you will receive an email on how to purchase the retake.
2.2. If you do not pass on the second attempt and wish to try again, you must contact the Contentful Learning Services for authorization to repurchase the Exam. Authorization to repurchase an Exam after failing to receive a passing score is at Contentful’s sole discretion.
3. Exam purchase expiration
3.1. The Exam expiration date is provided when you enroll in the Exam. All candidates must complete the Exam (including any second attempts) prior to the expiration date. No refund will be given for expired Exams.
4. Exam format
4.1. The Exam is an online exam taken on your own desktop or laptop computer at your location. Mobile phones and tablets are not supported. Before attempting the Exam, make sure you have a modern internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and a reliable Internet connection.
4.2. The Exam consists of multiple-choice and select-all-that-apply questions in English. You must complete the Exam in one sitting. The maximum time allowed to complete the Exam is seventy-five (75) minutes. To pass the certification, you must receive a final score of at least 70%.
5. Exam rules
5.1. You must observe the following rules when taking the Exam. Failure to follow these rules will invalidate your certification and may result in you not being permitted to attempt Contentful certification in the future.
1. You must provide Contentful with your real name when attempting the certification. You may not attempt certification from multiple email addresses or Contentful Learning Center accounts.
2. You must complete the Exam personally. No one may take the Exam on your behalf, provide you with Exam questions or answers prior to taking the Exam, or assist you in any way while you take the Exam.
3. While taking the Exam, you are not permitted to refer to reference materials (documentation, notes, online resources, etc.).
4. You must not share Exam questions or answers with others or give assistance to others while they take the Exam.
5. You must not claim or imply that you are Contentful certified until you receive an actual certificate from Contentful verifying your certification status. You must stop claiming or implying that you are Contentful certified if your certification status is revoked for any reason or if it has expired.
6. As a Contentful Certified Professional, you must uphold the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct in all your dealings. You must not do anything that would damage Contentful’s reputation or its business success.
6. Certification Policy Enforcement
6.1. Although you may receive a certificate immediately if you pass the Exam, Contentful reserves the right to validate Exam results to assure that our Certification Policy has not been violated. Should questions arise during the validation process about whether you complied with Contentful’s Certification Policy, you will receive an email that describes the process you must follow for your certification to remain valid. Contentful reserves the right to confirm that candidates reasonably have the knowledge to back up a passing score. The actions that Contentful may take to verify a candidate’s knowledge include (but are not limited to) a phone interview to assess a candidate’s knowledge or a requirement for the candidate to retake the exam in a proctored setting.
6.2. If Contentful reasonably suspects Certification Policy violations, it may refuse certification or revoke an already granted certification. If your certification is revoked, you are no longer permitted to claim that you are a Contentful Certified Professional. Depending on the severity of the violation, you may be barred from any future Contentful certification.
7. Use of Contentful Certification Logo
7.1. Your use of the Contentful certification logo is only for the personal use of the individual person who passed the Exam and cannot be used to represent that a company or school is certified. That is, a company or school may not represent itself as certified—only those individual persons who have passed the Exam may represent themselves as certified. Your use of the Contentful certification logo is subject to Contentful’s then-current Trademark and Brand Usage Policy, which is located at the following URL: https://www.contentful.com/legal/trademark-and-brand-use-policy/.
8. Certification Expiration
8.1. A Contentful certification is valid for two (2) years from the date of your Contentful Certified Professional certificate. Contentful reserves the right to make changes to its certification program, exam structure, and partner program requirements. These changes might require that you take additional steps to have the most current certification or to comply with new partner program requirements. But failure to do so will not invalidate any certification you have already been awarded that has not yet expired or been revoked.
9. Confidential Information
9.1. The content of the Exam, including without limitation, questions, answers, or any communication, including oral communication, regarding or related to the Exam is Contentful’s confidential information ("Confidential Information"). Any disclosure of Confidential Information is a violation of these Terms and could compromise the integrity and security of this certification program. Contentful makes exams available to you solely for the purpose of demonstrating competency in the content area assessed by the Exam. You are expressly prohibited from disclosing, publishing, reproducing, copying, selling, posting, downloading or transmitting any Confidential Information, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means, oral or written, electronic or mechanical, for any purpose.
10. Privacy
10.1. Contentful does not publicly release any information about certification exam attempts. However, by taking and passing the certification exam, you agree to give Contentful the right to include your name in public lists of Contentful Certified Professionals and to confirm that you are certified should a third party reasonably request verification of your Contentful certification status.
10.2. When we collect and process your personal information during participation in the Exam, your personal information is handled in accordance with Contentful’s Privacy Policy.
10.3. In providing Exam services, we may collect personal information such as:
● Your answers to Exam questions and the results of the Exam
● A record of your interactions with our performance-based Exams
● Your certification status
● Photographic and/or video recordings taken to confirm your identity, prevent fraud, and to otherwise help administer and score the Exam
